In this article, The AFIT Foundation will be recognizing Captain Trey Burrows, Director of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) at California Bioenergy LLC.

Captain Burrows received his MS in Logistics Management from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology in 1997. As a child, he was always fascinated with planes and space. His brother-in-law joined the Air Force when he was a teenager and after visiting him at his assignments, the calling to serve his country grew stronger. Eventually, he just knew he had to join the Air Force. Captain Burrows is currently the Director of EHS of California Bioenergy where his company works closely with dairy partners to clean the air and environment around us.

Captain Burrow’s favorite memory from AFIT was the friendships he developed and bonds that he made, many of which he formed while playing on the intermural hockey team.

Having a degree from such a prestigious institution and organization has opened many doors for Captain Burrow over the years. He also learned a lot about himself while at AFIT that allowed him to strive to be a better person.

When asked about advice he would give to those considering entering the military, Captain Burrow responded, “Many kids these days don’t talk about joining the military and that is a shame. Joining the military offers you great career opportunities whether you join for a few years or stay in for a lifetime. You can learn so much on how to lead people and manage processes/organizations that will pay you back time after time.” Thank you, Captain Burrows!
