About The AFIT Foundation

The AFIT Foundation is a private organization founded in 1986. It is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit corporation, incorporated in the State of Ohio for the purpose of furthering the goals of the Air Force Institute of Technology. The Foundation consists of a Board of Trustees and the Association of Graduates. The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Foundation. The Foundation is a non-federal entity within the context of the DoD Joint Ethics Regulation (JER). Section 1-224.

The Mission of the AFIT Foundation is to support the goals of AFIT. Functions performed by the foundation to perform this mission include:

  • Informing the alumni, former faculty, and friends everywhere of the mission, status, goals, and achievements of AFIT; and of its roles in the community, the Air Force, and in defense-related education
  • Management of the Distinguished Speaker Series.
  • Recognition of AFIT alumni.
  • Organizing activities for local alumni.
  • Maintenance and investment of donated and honorary award funds, endowments, and foundation dues.
  • Compliance with tax requirements and maintenance of financial records.
  • Recognition of AFIT graduates.

Our Leadership

Major General David W. Eidsaune, USAF (Ret)

CHAIRMAN, AFIT Foundation

General Eidsaune entered the Air Force in 1978 after graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Following the completion of undergraduate pilot training in 1979, he served as an F-111 instructor and evaluator pilot at Cannon AFB, N.M., and F-4, F-111 and F-15 experimental test pilot at Edwards AFB, Calif. He has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels, and was Vice Commander of Aeronautical Systems Center. During operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, he was a principal adviser to the Royal Saudi air force. The general also served as Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Commander of the Air Force Security Assistance Center, and Commander of the Air Armament Center. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, he served as the principal adviser to the Commanding General, Multi-National Force – Iraq, on air component issues.

General Eidsaune is a command pilot with more than 2,700 flying hours, primarily in the F-111, F-4, F-15 and F-16 aircraft.

Major General Everett G. Odgers, USAF (Ret)

VP of Finance, AFIT Foundation

MGen Everett G. Odgers, USAF, (Ret) earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Albuquerque and an MBA degree from the University of Utah. After enlisting in the Air Force in 1963, he earned a commission as an officer in 1972. His 39-year Air Force career included jobs at all levels in financial management and logistics to include finance officer, major command budget director and maintenance director at an air logistics center. During his last 10 years on active duty, MGen Odgers was the Comptroller of Air Mobility Command, Director of Budget Operations and Personnel, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller, and Comptroller and Director of Financial management Air Force Logistics Command. Following his retirement in 2012, MGen Odgers became the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Greentree Group, an information Technology company. He left that position in 2012. Since then he has turned to assisting in the management and operation of non-profit organizations whose focus is on military operations and veterans affairs. MGen Odgers has served on numerous boards over the years and has been a member of the Foundation Board since 2003.
