In this article, The AFIT Foundation is recognizing Dr. Michael Gravier, Chair of the Department of Marketing for Bryant University.
Dr. Gravier received his MS in Logistics Management with a concentration in Transportation from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology in 1999. His desire to join the military came from the sense of serving a greater good. Dr. Gravier served as an Air Force logistics officer for 12 years and is now a fulltime professor and department chair at Bryant University, a private college in the top 10 on US News’ Regional North list.
AFIT taught Dr. Gravier linear programming and statistics skills that he utilizes daily in his job as a business professor. AFIT also provided a model for how to apply knowledge to solve real world problems and allowed him to make lifelong connections. Dr. Gravier’s favorite memory at AFIT was playing foosball. He writes, “That foosball table drove some of the faculty nuts, but we made friends with people from other career fields we would never have been friends with otherwise.”
Dr. Gravier advises those who are considering entering the military to take the leap and do it, as the sense of mission, camaraderie, and ability to travel are incredibly unique and memorable. Thank you, Dr. Gravier!
