In this issue, The AFIT Foundation is recognizing Colonel Olivia Elliott, Chief of Safety at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center!

Colonel Elliott graduated in 2019 from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) with a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering. Her desire to serve in the Air Force began during the First Gulf War in 1990. As a 12-year-old watching the images on the news, she wanted to be there defending her nation. She now serves at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio as the Director of Safety for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).

A favorite memory Colonel Elliott has from AFIT was processing day! She was excited to meet fellow PhD candidates and embark on a completely different adventure in the Air Force. Getting her degree from AFIT opened doors to new opportunities and challenges in the AF. Since AFIT, Colonel Elliott has been able to work with AFRL, DARPA, in the F-35 Program Office and in AFLCMC on incredibly unique programs.

When asked about what she would say to those considering entering the military, Colonel Elliott says, “The military offers so many unique and amazing opportunities. If you’re willing to work hard and put forth the effort, the sky is the limit!” Thank you, Colonel Elliott!
